XChange 2014: Live Performances With Ableton Live 9
It’s that time again – with the IndiEarth XChange just a few weeks away, preparations are in full swing to take over Chennai this December 5th – 7th with three invigorating days of conferences, panel discussions, workshops, film screenings, music performances and more. The workshops this year are targetted at developing practical hands-on skills in different sectors of the art, film, music and performance space.
XCHANGE 2014 – WORKSHOPS
One such workshop will be with Berlin based musician Madeleine Bloom (aka Sonic Bloom) who will be conducting a workshop titled Live Electronics with Ableton Live. Through a series of performance demos, she will offer an introduction to Ableton Live 9, showcasing how the software can be used to create your own live performance set, and how to effectively incorporate MIDI controllers into the performance. “The workshop is open to all genres. It’s not about certain musical styles, but explaining Live’s Session View and different features that can be used to achieve whatever the participants want to do in their performances – from backing tracks to controllerism to live looping, either on their own or with others,” says Madeleine.
Madeleine herself is a classically trained musician, producer, multi-instrumentalist and singer from Berlin who has studied Electroacoustic Music at the Franz Liszt Conservatory. She offers one-to-one lessons, workshops and courses and more that cover all aspects of Ableton Live and Push, with an emphasis on music production, composition, remixing and live performance.
Register early for her workshop – only 15 places available, so book yours now!
